The National Sports Authority can’t account for $2 million provided by AngloGold Ashanti for the development of sports infrastructure in the country.

The mining company provided the funds as part of its corporate social responsibility in 2007 and the projects were supposed to commence in 2008.

The 2 million dollars was supposed to be channeled into the building of multi-purposed sports facility in the ten regions to promote sports in Ghana.

However, the monies weren’t used for the exact purpose they were meant for, so the 2014 audit report cited the National Sports Authority (NSA) of misappropriating the $2 million dollars.

It is understood that some of the NSA bosses who have been at post within the period, can’t state the exact projects the $2 million dollars have been put into use.
